It’s all going down Wednesday night between the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets.

Unlike Tuesday night’s play-in games, the ninth-seed Hawks and tenth-seed Hornets are facing sudden death.

Whichever team loses the game will be eliminated from the playoffs before they even begin.

The stakes couldn’t be higher – and the excitement levels are only rising.

Tonight's Hawks-Hornets play-in game at State Farm Arena is a sellout, I'm told — standing room only tickets still available.

I think it'll be a pretty fun environment tonight.

According to reports, State Farm Arena in Atlanta is completely sold out and only standing room tickets are available.

All of those people are going to be on their feet and cheering on their Hawks to win the game and have another chance at claiming the eighth seed in the East.

This is going to be one explosive game.

The Long Road To Here

It’s been something of a bumpy road for both the Hawks and the Hornets this season.

Both teams have had some incredible runs during the year but they are now lower in the standings than expected.

The Hawks were the fifth seed at the end of last season and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

However, this year they are struggling and haven’t been able to fully find their footing.

In fact, some people are surprised they’ve even made it this far.

As for the Hornets, they are definitely a young team that is still a work in progress.

Mostly powered by the dynamic style of young LaMelo Ball, the Hornets are a team to keep an eye on.

But do they have what it takes to make the playoffs this year?

That is the big question they will answer over the next few days.

Fans for both the Hawks and Hornets are rabid about their teams so you can expect both sides to be fired up on Wednesday night.

No matter who wins, there will be some fireworks.
