The Denver Broncos are in the midst of one of the most disappointing seasons in franchise history.
Not only were they expected to compete in the AFC West this year, but they were one of the handfuls of Super Bowl favorites.
All of that is because of the trade they made in the offseason to acquire quarterback Russell Wilson.
Denver was in quarterback purgatory over the last few seasons, so they decided to make a splash move and acquire the former Super Bowl champion.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, that move could not have gone any worse for them.
Wilson has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL this year and Denver’s playoff chances are already gone.
Sitting at 3-8, this is a spot no one in Denver thought they would be in.
Yet, this season is not the only reason Broncos fans should be feeling bad.
Before this season they signed Wilson to a massive contract extension that makes him almost immovable.
Also, they do not have their first-round draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft due to the trade.
This is rock bottom for the Broncos, with no clear way out.
Lost Locker Room
Another issue the Broncos will have to deal with is locker room disputes.
The defense is not happy with the lack of success from Wilson this year and one player made that known on Sunday.

Defensive lineman Mike Purcell was very frustrated with Wilson and he is probably not the only one feeling that way.
When you acquire someone with the pedigree of Wilson, you expect to be a part of a winning team.
But, that has not been the case.
The situation in Denver is at an all-time low and the Broncos’ front office may need to make some wholesale changes this offseason.
