Brock Purdy has undergone a rollercoaster of a rookie season.
After being the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Purdy began the year buried on the San Francisco 49ers’ depth chart.
He was behind both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, and it seemed nearly impossible that he would ever play in a game, much less start one.
However, Purdy has led the 49ers to seven straight victories, including their blowout of the Seattle Seahawks during Wild Card Weekend.
With all of the drama surrounding Purdy ahead of their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, one sportsbook poses an interesting question.

Is Purdy better than Dak Prescott?
At first, this seems like an insane question.
Prescott is a seven-year NFL veteran who began his career with a hot start.
After an injury in 2020, and only playing in 12 games in 2022, many have wondered if Prescott’s best days are behind him, which is the reason the question of Purdy or Prescott exists in the first place.
Let’s look at both players’ stats.
In his past five games, Purdy has thrown for 1,245 yards, 12 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
In Prescott’s past five games, he has thrown for 1,318 yards and 13 touchdowns but has added six interceptions.
When looking at these two players side-by-side, it’s not difficult to decide that you would rather have Purdy as your quarterback, from a purely statistical standpoint.
To say that Purdy is better than Prescott is impossible, given Purdy’s lack of experience.
However, in a few years, we might be able to make a more definitive conclusion.
