The Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional (LVBP), Venezuela’s baseball league, was the last of the winter circuits to end.
Its final game took place on Monday night in Caracas, between crosstown rivals Tiburones de La Guaira and Leones del Caracas.
The series had a little bit of everything: an iconic homer celebration by Ronald Acuna Jr., the player giving up on his team after seeing his family fight with the crowd, key strikeouts, impressive home runs, lead changes, and much more.
It ended in a Game 6 win by Leones, who conquered their 21st domestic title.
It was also an exciting ending for an exciting series: a walk-off blast by MLB player Harold Castro.
It wasn’t just any walk-off: it was a huge blast in inning eleven to win the league, and his celebration measured up with the enormous drive to deep right field.

First, he stood next to the opposing catcher and hilariously pointed to the ball.
Then he started his home run trot and interrupted it a couple of times to hear the crowd and absorb the energy of the home fans.
He was greeted by his teammates at home plate and everybody started jumping around in a full-fledged show of collective happiness.
Castro, one of Leones’ most valuable players, was with the Detroit Tigers in 2022 and had a .271/.300/.381 line with seven homers in 443 plate appearances.
His performance was consistent, but not good enough to convince the offensively-challenged Tigers to keep him.
He signed a spring training deal with the Colorado Rockies and will try to make the team there.
For now, let’s all enjoy his amazing celebration together.
