The Cleveland Guardians may be 1-2 on the young season, but they have a few things going on for them to be excited about.
They recently extended star third baseman Jose Ramirez, for one.
They still have a strong foundation headlined by Shane Bieber, Franmil Reyes, Myles Straw, and other players of note.
However, one of the discoveries of 2022 may very well be Steven Kwan.
The outfielder is the proud owner of a .800 batting average and a 1.857 OBP entering play Monday.
He has scored four runs, too, and taken three walks.
Perhaps the most impressive part of his profile so far is the fact that he hasn’t struck out yet.
That’s obviously saying something, considering how strikeout-heavy MLB is.
Kwan is one of the biggest storylines of the season so far.
He is 24, so he has his best years ahead of him, and plays on a team that will give its young guys all the reps they can handle if they prove to be good enough.
Kwantastic Performance!
He virtually came out of nowhere to be one of the Guardians’ stars of the young season so far.
He obviously won’t hit .800 all year, but it’s not impossible to see him finish at around .300 with a solid OBP, too.
He doesn’t have too much power, so even 15 home runs may be a stretch, but he does have some impressive speed to add to his profile.
It appears Cleveland found a piece for the future in Kwan, and even his teammates “caught” the fever.
Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie went so far to use Kwan as his profile picture on Twitter in a hilarious move.

Everybody loves Kwan: can his play justify a spot in the everyday lineup?
He has all the tools to make it happen.
