NFL remains the king of TV, as 88 of their games have been the most watched over the last calendar year.
You can see that Cowboys/Giants Thanksgiving game was the most-watched game by a large margin.
Dallas always gets the primetime slots on the big days.
They are a staple on Thanksgiving day, and their Christmas Eve showdown with the Eagles is also one of the most viewed.
There is a reason the NFL rarely puts the Cowboys at the 1 pm ET slot.
Having them as the 4:25 game of the week, or on primetime brings much more viewers.
That is why their playoff game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is Monday night.
Pinning the Cowboys vs. Tom Brady on primetime will probably be the most-watched game of the NFL season.
Yes, even outdoing the 42.1 million that watched the Thanksgiving game.
The NFL is in a better place when the Cowboys are good.
They want Dallas to make the playoffs and go far because they are a cash cow for the league.
It will be interesting to see what the viewership numbers would look like if the Cowboys are in the NFC title or Super Bowl.
But, they will have their work cut out for them during this playoff run.
The matchups in the Wild Card round are entertaining as plenty of fans should be tuned in around the nation.
