The 2022 regular season has come and gone, and as we look back at the many great things that took place during the season, one thing that stands out is the season that Aaron Judge put together.
Judge’s resurgence helped guide the New York Yankees to a 99-win season and their first AL East title since 2019.
By now, it’s no secret what Judge did.
He hit .311 with 62 home runs, 131 RBI, and a 1.111 OPS in 570 at-bats.
He broke Roger Maris‘ single-season home run record for American League players and was first in every major offensive category in all of baseball, with the exception of batting average.

Judge’s Dominance
Unfortunately, Judge’s resurgence was not enough to net him the Triple Crown, which would have been the first Triple Crown since Miguel Cabrera earned it in 2012.
But that doesn’t take away from the kind of season he had.
When the Yankees fell on hard times, it was Judge who pulled them out of their rut with his big-time power.
It was Judge who broke a home run record and put himself in line to potentially win the AL MVP Award this season.
Judge is the one who carried the Yankees all season long.
Now, the postseason is here, and the Yankees can only hope for more of the same from their slugger.
When you rank first in all major offensive categories except for one, that means you had a historic season at the plate and were somebody that could crush any mistake from a pitcher.
That’s exactly what Judge has been able to do.
Whoever meets the Yankees in the ALDS will have their hands full when Judge steps in the box.
