The Las Vegas Raiders had six picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

They started by selecting offensive guard Dylan Parham in the third round to possibly compete with Alex Leatherwood.

The Raiders also drafted a pair of running backs, Georgia’s Zamir White and UCLA’s Brittain Brown, after declining Josh Jacobs’ fifth-year option.

Las Vegas also took offensive tackle Thayer Munford and defensive tackles Neil Farrell Jr. and Matthew Butler.

The team hopes that most, if not all of their picks will pan out.

Unfortunately, as NFL insider Dov Kleiman shared, history isn’t on the team’s side.

It was tough being a #Raiders fan in the 2000s.

In 2002, a pick before the #Ravens drafted @TwentyER, the Raiders picked LB Napoleon Harris

Kleiman highlighted four Raiders picks during the 2000s that became flops.

He started with the team selecting Napoleon Harris over Hall of Famer Ed Reed.

Then there’s Robert Galley over Larry Fitzgerald, and Fabian Washington before reigning Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers.

Finally, JaMarcus Russell went first overall in 2007 NFL Draft over Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson.

The Raiders could have built a super-team if only they picked the right players.

Instead, the team went into oblivion.

They haven’t had a playoff victory since the 2002 season and had 14 losing records from 2003 to 2021.

Raiders Looking Good In 2022

The Raiders will try to build on their playoff appearance last season with an improved roster.

All-Pro wideout Davante Adams is reunited with his college teammate, quarterback Derek Carr, after signing a five-year, $141.25 million deal.

He will be a part of the receiving unit with Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, and tight end Darren Waller.

On defense, they’ve given Maxx Crosby a lucrative extension and brought in Chandler Jones.

The Raiders also signed cornerback Anthony Averett who played four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Head coach Josh McDaniels will steer this team throughout the season, especially during AFC West rivalry games.
