Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young has often been a controversial subject in the league.
Some believe his numbers speak for themselves and consider him to be a superstar, while others simply don’t like his game and don’t see him as a winner.
That’s been the case with him since his days in high school.
Even so, he’s had some ice-cold moments in his brief career in the league, and a former NBA All-Star believes he just doesn’t get enough respect or credit for that.
In the latest edition of the From The Point podcast, the former Washington Wizards star claimed that any other player that did what Young did to the New York Knicks in the Madison Square Garden in the playoffs two years ago would be considered a god (via NBA on ESPN).

Young didn’t make the cut for Team USA despite meeting most of the criteria, being a young star of the game and one of the best playmakers and scorers in the league.
His blatant lack of interest in playing defense and lack of physicality reportedly left a bad impression in his first stint with Team USA’s select squad, which is why he wasn’t brought back.
Even so, we’re talking about a young man who’s been among the league’s leaders in both points and assists per game every single season since he entered the league and who’s proven to be more than capable of rising to the occasion when his team is in need of a hero or a big bucket.
