The New York Giants did not fire Joe Judge on the NFL’s annual Black Monday.
That came as a surprise to fans both in New York and all over the NFL.
Judge’s team limped to a 4-13 finish and was even running quarterback sneaks in Week 18 to run down the clock and mercifully end the season.
The reports were that ownership was taking its time to come to a decision.
Plenty of fans got their wish Tuesday evening as the Giants have officially fired Judge after two seasons.

This comes after GM Dave Gettleman retired, meaning a full reset is coming to the Giants organization.
Ownership is now joining in on what remains a dynamic head coaching market in 2022.
The #Giants never gave Joe Judge assurances as his second season spiraled. It ended on a six-game losing streak, with strange press conferences and on-field strategy, and for the third straight time, New York is looking for a new head coach after just two years.

Giants Fire Joe Judge
A six-game losing streak to end the season may be what ultimately did Judge in.
To be fair, he did have Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm at quarterback.
But that is no excuse for scoring 10 points or fewer in five of the losses.
Jason Garrett was the scapegoat earlier this season and nothing improved upon his departure.
That left Judge to answer for everything that went wrong.

This is a tough reality for Giants ownership to face.
The franchise moved on from Tom Coughlin following the 2015 season.
Ben McAdoo signed on in 2016 and was fired before two full seasons.
Pat Shurmur followed it up with two losing seasons, which was then followed by Judge and his own mark of two lost years.
The franchise now has no GM, no head coach, and no franchise quarterback, unless someone out there really believes in Daniel Jones.
A benefit of this is that a new regime can shape the organization in their vision.
However, it’s not like this would be the first time someone tried to do this with the Giants even in the past few years.
