The New York Giants entered Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as underdogs.
So they were not expected to win.
But was it expected to be so ugly?
The Giants scored 10 points on a night when Daniel Jones threw for 167 yards on 38 attempts and Saquon Barkley ran for 25 yards on six carries.
The team never stood a chance and have fallen to 3-7 on the season.
This is a team where just about every single coach and front office member is on the hot seat.
So who would take the blame for this primetime embarrassment?
Fans got an answer Tuesday as offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was fired.
Jason Garrett has been relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator.

Heads are starting to roll in New York and he may not be the first to go.
The Firings Have Begun
It is never a good sign when any coach gets fired during the season.
This usually means the head coach is seeking anything positive to save his own job.
But it’s not like Garrett’s bunch was setting the world on fire.
They are averaging under 20 points per game and Jones is not showing much progression in his third season.
Thus Garrett is out and Joe Judge will hope things turn around starting next week.
Yet the real focus is back on GM Dave Gettleman.

Garrett worked with the talent he was given, by Gettleman, and the results were dismal.
Is that on the coaches?
Yes, to some degree they are responsible for maximizing the abilities of everyone on the roster.
But Gettleman has established a core on offense of Jones and Barkley.
The former seems average at best and the latter can’t stay healthy.
If the losing continues either Judge or Gettleman is going to have to go.
And at this point, Judge may be safe for at least one more year the same way Garrett was following an ugly 2020 season.
