One of the best things about Major League Baseball is the opportunity for fans to receive autographed items from their favorite players.
On Tuesday, at the New York Yankees spring camp, Gerrit Cole made a young fan’s day.
The veteran right-hander approached a young girl wearing a Yankees jersey who wanted an autograph.
Cole signed the young fan’s baseball and posed for a picture with her as she held her souvenir.
On Twitter, MLB posted a few photos of this nice interaction between Cole and a young fan, writing in the caption that the Gerrit Cole fan club gained a new supporter today.

The Cole fan club certainly did gain a new supporter this afternoon.
Firstly, for her to get the chance to come down to spring training is exciting.
But for this young fan to get a chance to actually meet Cole, get a signed baseball from him, and a picture with the right-hander is just the icing on the cake.
Most players, if not all, enjoy the opportunity to interact with their fans and make them happy.
Cole is no different and clearly got a kick out of it.
One can only imagine that this young girl enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Yankees ace as well.
A signed baseball and a picture just adds to what a great experience it must have been for this young fan.
More than anything else, it means that baseball is finally back, as are the sights and sounds of this truly magical game.
