Geno Smith should probably send the Detroit Lions a fruit basket after their stunning victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
Not only did this victory propel the Seattle Seahawks into the playoffs, but it gave Smith a nice payday as well.
While securing a playoff berth was the real prize for Seattle, Detroit's win over the Green Bay was extra sweet for Geno Smith.
By playing 80% of the snaps AND making the playoffs, Smith earned an additional $1M incentive.

In a season where expectations were relatively low for Smith, he delivered in a big way.
Not only was Smith able to lead the Seahawks to an unsuspecting playoff berth, but he was able to cash in on all of the incentives that were included in his new contract.
The next challenge for Smith and the Seahawks will be the San Francisco 49ers, which will be played on Saturday afternoon.
The 49ers have taken both games in the season series this year, and the Seahawks will look for revenge in their third meeting this season.
Smith has been playing extremely well this season and will have a chance to bring the Seahawks yet another unlikely victory this week.
On the other hand, the 49ers are starting rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, who, although he doesn’t have any playoff experience, will rely on a strong defense to help propel the 49ers to a victory.
Many have regarded the 49ers as the team to beat in the NFC.
Their defense is the league’s best, and Smith and the Seahawks will need to continue this magical run against this strong defensive front.
This season has been one of the strangest and most unlikely in the history of the league, and we will soon see if the playoffs provide a similar atmosphere.
