The 2023 NBA Draft will feature arguably the most hyped prospect in NBA history, even more than LeBron James and Zion Williamson.
French stud Victor Wembanyama looks like a generational talent, a 7-foot-2 specimen with the handles and shooting skills of a guard and the rim protection and defensive instincts of a center.
For years, the big man from French side Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A has been projected as the first-overall pick in his draft, up to the point where NBA League Pass started broadcasting his team’s games.
So, it wasn’t surprising to see Wembanyama sitting courtside and hitting up NBA legend Magic Johnson when the league took the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons to Paris for their annual international games.
Needless to say, the crowd went crazy when the 19-year-old embraced Magic, who also had plenty of praise for his skills.

Multiple NBA scouts have deemed Wembanyama as the greatest prospect ever, and some believe he could legitimately make a case to be the best player in NBA history once it’s all said and done.
He’s been dominating young NBA players and foreign stars with France’s youth teams, and he put on a show in the preseason when his team faced the G-League Ignite, which featured projected second-overall pick Scoot Henderson.
Unlike other seven-footers, Wembanyama has a strong frame and plenty of muscle, so there are not the usual injury concerns that often come with players like Chet Holmgren and Manute Bol.
He can knock down threes like Kevin Durant, put it on the floor like Stephen Curry, and swat shots into the stands like Rudy Gobert.
It doesn’t get any better than that.
