Last night, Freddie Freeman had a chance to play against his old team, the Atlanta Braves, for the first time.
Freeman and the Braves won the World Series in 2021 before the former signed a six-year deal to go play for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team Atlanta beat in the NLCS.
But for the first time since his departure, he got a chance to catch up with his old teammates.
When asked about seeing his former Braves teammates, Freeman kept the narrative simple, saying that the media will try to put a certain spin on it, but regardless, he was happy to see his friends again.
Freddie Freeman: “Everyone wants to run and say this and that, but the only storyline for me today was just I was just happy to see my friends.”

No Nonsense
It’s clear that Freeman doesn’t want any drama surrounding the whole situation.
Obviously, the Braves moved on from their franchise player when they traded for Matt Olson, which prompted him to sign with the Dodgers.
Naturally, there was somewhat of a stir created by the media when it happened, but Freeman is taking the high road and choosing not to engage in any sort of drama.
Freeman is a native of Southern California and is essentially enjoying a sort of homecoming.
The Dodgers are the early favorites to win the World Series as a result of the Freeman addition and he wants to be a part of what they are trying to accomplish.
But it is good to see that he was happy to catch up with his old teammates and that there are no hard feelings between the two sides.
