Freddie Freeman may be a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers now, but he knows where he is coming from.
During a game between the Atlanta Braves and the Dodgers, he received his Silver Slugger award, the one he earned last season while wearing the former’s uniform.
“Prior to tonight’s game, @FreddieFreeman5 received his Silver Slugger Award for the 2021 season. Congratulations, Freddie!,” the Dodgers’ account tweeted.

They also included a picture of Freeman receiving the recognition, with his wife Chelsea, his kids, and Braves manager Brian Snitker, along with other Braves coaches.
It was a really classy move by the Dodgers, especially with the on-field rivalry fueled by their recent matchups in the postseason.
The Dodgers eliminated the Braves in the National League Championship Series in 2020 en route to the title, and the Braves returned the favor in 2021, also on their way to the World Series trophy.
Nobody Will Ever Forget Freeman’s Contributions To The Braves
Freeman may play the rest of his career in Los Angeles and become a legend there, but everybody knows Freeman built a legacy in Atlanta, and that should be respected and celebrated.
He was one of the most important people behind the Braves’ World Series run last year.
He slashed .300/.393/.503 with 31 home runs, 120 runs scored, 83 RBI, and a .896 OPS last season.
If that wasn’t enough, he added five round-trippers in the postseason to help the Braves overcome the Milwaukee Brewers, the Dodgers, and the Houston Astros.
Before last season, Freeman had won the MVP award in the National League in 2020, and he has hit 272 home runs over a successful major league career that started in 2010.
271 of those homers came with the Braves uniform.
