Over the last few seasons, Fred VanVleet has become the face of the Toronto Raptors.
Last season, the guard averaged 20.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists and was front-and-center for all of the team’s success.
Not only is he a great scorer and point facilitator, but he is also the team’s leader now too.

VanVleet opened up about how he guides the guys on his team and it sounds remarkably similar to how normal, everyday people lead.
“I try to lead by example,” VanVleet said about his leadership style.
“If that fails, I cuss.”
That’s a very understandable approach to leading and it honestly might help his Raptors go far in the upcoming season.
The Raptors Rebounding
Toronto has quietly and steadily become something very special in the East.
They didn’t make it too far in the postseason last year but they have compiled a roster that is quite impressive, with VanVleet at the core of it all.
This next season could be a huge one for Toronto, even with the fierce competition of the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and more.
With VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Goran Dragic, Gary Trent Jr., Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes, and others, the Raptors could surprise everyone and claim a great playoff spot.
If they do that, it’ll be because VanVleet continues to play with his terrific determination and skill.
He has never been the biggest guy on the court but he has always played as if he was.
When his team was missing players, VanVleet stepped up again and again and became an incredibly consistent guard.
Now, the Raptors are his team but he has a great group of athletes around him ready to play hard.
