Frank Vogel’s time coaching the Los Angeles Lakers has had its fair share of ups and downs.
On one hand, he led the team to a championship victory only a couple of seasons ago.
On the other hand, he was in charge of the team during this last season which was decidedly not good at all.
It now sounds like it’s officially the end of the road for Vogel in LA.
Frank Vogel has coached his final game for the Lakers, a decision that’s expected to be shared with him as soon as Monday, sources tell ESPN. Lakers’ search expected to be lengthy and expansive with no clear initial frontrunner.

Vogel is expected to be relieved of coaching duties on Monday, a move that everyone has seen coming and no one will be surprised by.
The coach’s career inside the NBA definitely isn’t over and we will see him again on some other team.
Meanwhile, the Lakers will now get to work at finding a replacement – and there are quite a few names being tossed around.
Farewell, Frank
The firing of Vogel isn’t shocking in the slightest.
He has been on the chopping block since January when it started to look like the Lakers weren’t turning things around.
But who will replace Vogel?
The two biggest names rumored to be attached are Doc Rivers, currently of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Quin Snyder, currently of the Utah Jazz.
Both of those coaches are likely going to be parting ways with their teams if the postseason doesn’t treat them well.
They are also both accomplished and will be highly sought-after.
Other names have also been in the mix, such as David Fizdale, Juwan Howard, and even Rajon Rondo.
The Lakers have a huge task ahead of them.
You’d think leading this Lakers’ lineup to success would be easy but obviously, that isn’t the case.
The front office needs to find someone who can capitalize on the squad’s great potential.
