It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers have had an abysmal season.
The team had high expectations coming into the 2021-22 NBA season, having added Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook to play alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
But age has caught up to several veterans on the team’s roster and injuries have taken their toll.
The Lakers are now barely hanging in the Western Conference playoff race, and with the team continuing to slide, they may end up falling out of the race.
Meanwhile, Frank Vogel, the team’s coach doesn’t seem to be too concerned, despite watching his team continue to crumble under the pressure.
Frank Vogel: "Our guys competed, they fought. … We get everybody's best shot and those guys played terrific."

Where Is The Urgency?
Given the stars the Lakers have on their roster, it should be quite concerning to Vogel that they are where they are right now.
Yet he acts as if everything is fine because they are “competing.”
Of course, Vogel can’t act like it’s doomsday.
He has to maintain some level of positivity to show he believes in his team.
But his comments almost seem to show a lack of urgency.
The Lakers are not who we all thought they were.
Everybody thought this team would be a clear contender for an NBA title, but this season has shown us otherwise.
Last night’s lost to the Houston Rockets was solid evidence of that.
But at this point in the season, with such little time left, Vogel does need to be showing a little more concern for the poor play of his team.
There is simply too much talent on the roster for them to be struggling this badly, and if the Lakers want to turn it around, they’re going to need Vogel to light a fire under them.
