The Carolina Panthers have a good problem on their hands right now.
They traded for the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and there will be plenty of suitable options to take there.
The Panthers will be on the clock for a new quarterback, and while most people believe the debate is between C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young, Frank Reich might not be so sure about that.
Recently, the newly-hired head coach showered University of Florida standout Anthony Richardson with praise.
Reich claimed that he’s an exciting player with “a lot to like.”
He added that his tape was quite interesting and that several throws scream “top of the draft pick.”
Reich also praised his mechanics, although he did point out the fact that his accuracy could be an issue going forward.

Richardson is perhaps the most athletic QB prospect in this class, and he has the build of a Cam Newton kind of player.
Nonetheless, his 53.8% completion percentage is head-scratching, as those players usually struggle in the pros.
Richardson threw for 2,549 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine picks, combining impressive plays with avoidable mistakes.
Even so, at 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds with impressive athleticism and the ability to become one of the best dual-threat QBs in the league, many teams would gladly overlook those mistakes.
Still, it might take a lot for the Panthers to change their minds about Stroud or Young as the best quarterback prospects in this class, but we’ve seen crazier things happen in the past, so we won’t rule anything out.
