The Chicago White Sox have not had a good season.
Despite all the talent on their roster, they sit at 42-45 and are mired in third place in the American League Central.
They won 93 games a year ago and took the division crown, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing for them.
Former White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen had some strong words for current manager Tony La Russa.
Guillen and former White Sox star Scott Podsednik cited a lack of urgency from La Russa and the team on their postgame show, with Guillen even referring to La Russa as “Rick Renteria with credentials.”
MLB insider Rick Gregg posted a tweet recapping Guillen’s rant.

Guillen Roasts La Russa
For context, Renteria was not exactly a manager who put down the iron fist very often, whereas La Russa has been over his many years in the game.
The White Sox only had one winning season under Renteria, and if what White Sox insiders are saying is true, there may not have been a ton of urgency when Renteria was at the helm.
They brought in La Russa to be a guy that kept the team in line.
But Guillen went all in and totally roasted La Russa here.
He seems to feel as if La Russa isn’t doing a good enough job at ensuring his players play with a little more urgency.
With them sitting in third place in the division after a 93-win season a year ago, there is cause for concern.
Guillen knows the White Sox better than almost anybody, and he did not hold back when talking about how La Russa has handled the team.
