Over the last couple of years, the Buffalo Bills‘ Josh Allen has become one of the best, if not the best, quarterback in the NFL.
His growth and evolution throughout his five-year pro career have been something to behold, as has the Bills’ ascension to contender status.
But football is the epitome of a team game, and a young, potential-laden QB needs skilled wide receivers around him to help him become his best self.
Robert Griffin III, who himself has a QB who had lots of potential several years ago, said that Buffalo’s acquisition of wideout Stefon Diggs played a huge role in Allen’s rise to stardom.
The best thing the Bills ever did for Josh Allen was TRADE FOR STEFON DIGGS. Since his arrival in 2020 he has helped Josh Allen rise to the IRON THRONE of Quarterbacks.

Saying that Allen has risen to the “iron throne” of quarterbacks sounds a bit premature, but Griffin was right about the first part of his tweet.
Diggs spent the first five seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings before being traded to the Bills in 2020 for four draft picks.
That year, Allen became a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career by throwing for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns while posting a stellar completion rate of 69.2 percent.
Diggs also made the Pro Bowl that year, as well as the All-Pro First Team with a league-high 1,535 receiving yards, plus eight touchdowns.
So far this season, Allen is leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns, while Diggs has 656 receiving yards and six touchdowns through six contests.
Not surprisingly, the Bills, who have been picked by many to reach the Super Bowl, if not win it, are 5-1, which is the best record in the AFC.
If Diggs has helped Allen reach the upper echelon of the league, the reverse also has to be true.
