The numbers aren’t exactly impressive, but the eye test has been encouraging for Indianapolis Colts rookie Anthony Richardson.
Richardson was the least experienced quarterback taken in the NFL Draft and one of the biggest talking points throughout the entire process, but the Colts still didn’t hesitate to take a gamble on him.
And now that we’ve taken a glimpse of his game in a couple of preseason matchups, former NFL player Plaxico Burress believes he’s going to be the real deal.
In his latest appearance on The Carton Show, the former wide receiver doubled down on his take from early in the offseason, stating that he’d be the most NFL-ready quarterback entering the league this season.
Anthony Richardson flashes potential vs Eagles:

Richardson’s efficiency will be a major reason for concern.
He wasn’t accurate in college, and his decision-making often put his team in a tough spot.
But he’s such an impressive athlete that the game just comes naturally and easily to him.
Even with a subpar offensive line, he’s been able to make something out of broken plays, and his ability to scramble and find gaps into the defense is just remarkable.
The Colts will have a tough time winning football games this season, and the potential of not having Jonathan Taylor by his side will obviously hurt his chances of keeping rival defenses guessing.
But once he gets his legs under him and the game slows down for him, Richardson could be something like the second coming of Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson, and that’s not half bad.
