A few days have passed since Scott Rolen became the newest member of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
He was the only player on the ballot who was elected in 2023.
Rolen had a tremendous career, playing 17 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Cincinnati Reds and winning eight Gold Gloves along the way.
He also earned a Silver Slugger, seven All-Star selections, a Rookie of the Year Award, and a World Series title.
On Friday, Rolen’s former Phillies manager Larry Bowa stopped by MLB Network and discussed what it meant to him to see the star third baseman reach the Hall.
"The thing that I admired a lot about Scotty… the way he ran the bases. He took a lot of pride in it."

Bowa raved about Rolen, praising him for his hard-nosed play, his hustle, his great defense, his baserunning skills, and his professionalism.
Bowa even commented that Rolen was a leader in his own way, and that if he gave any pointers to young players about how to play the game the right way, those players would listen to him.
The former Phillies manager did say that he wished Rolen had stayed in Philadelphia a little bit longer.
After Rolen was traded to St. Louis, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins emerged.
With Rolen at third base, the infield of the Phillies could have potentially been one of the best in the history of the game.
But as is common with anybody who played with Rolen or had the pleasure of managing or coaching him, Bowa had a lot of positive things to say about his former third baseman.
