The Miami Dolphins pulled out all the stops to upgrade their roster.
On the offensive line, they added Connor Williams and Terron Armstead.
They also acquired Melvin Ingram III to bolster their defense.
Meanwhile, they revamped their backfield with Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, and Sony Michel.
But their biggest splash was at wide receiver after adding Cedrick Wilson and trading for All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill.
The Dolphins also made Hill the highest-paid player at his position via a four-year, $120 million contract.
Those pass-catchers will join Jaylen Waddle who had 1,015 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie year.
Yet while the building blocks of a competitive roster are already in place, it seems like all is not good on their end.
Maybe don’t try to make Gesicki into Kittle and he’ll be a better fit? There’s only one Kittle, good luck finding another for that type of offense. We spent a whole off-season praising the genius of Mike McDaniel and he can’t find a way to properly utilize a pass catching TE? https://t.co/oaAF4rDyTH

Pro Football Focus reporter Doug Kyed tweeted, “The #Dolphins have brought up TE Mike Gesicki’s name in trade discussions, per a league source.”
To which, former NFL offensive lineman Mitchell Schwartz responded, “Maybe don’t try to make Gesicki into Kittle and he’ll be a better fit? There’s only one Kittle, good luck finding another for that type of offense. We spent a whole off-season praising the genius of Mike McDaniel and he can’t find a way to properly utilize a pass-catching TE?”
Dolphins Should Find A Way For It To Work
Gesicki has proven himself to be a productive player after finishing with 780 yards and two touchdowns last season.
It’s his second consecutive season with at least 700 receiving yards.
Therefore, his production is on the rise, and Schwartz made a valid point about finding a role for him.
He plays differently from Kittle and that’s what McDaniel should realize.
By finding ways for him to contribute, the Dolphins become a more formidable squad.
