Are the New York Giants giving up on running back Saquon Barkley?
In a recent press conference, new Giants general manager Joe Schoen declared that “I’m open to anything” regarding a Barkley trade.
Therefore, they are exploring the option of moving away from the 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year with the right deal.
It’s hard to fault the Giants for entertaining the idea of letting him go because he was a huge disappointment last season.
Despite playing 13 games, he ended up with only 593 yards and two touchdowns.
These developments might not have a positive effect on Barkley’s confidence.
However, one former NFL wide receiver motivated him to use the noise to seek for a better situation.
Honestly if I’m Saquon Barkley hearing trade rumors surrounding my name I’ll be up for it…..I can see you being very dominant for one of those west coast teams… 90% of the time the uncomfortable change turns out to be positive whenever you embrace it

Dez Bryant tweeted: “Honestly, if I’m Saquon Barkley hearing trade rumors surrounding my name I’ll be up for it…..I can see you being very dominant for one of those west coast team… 90% of the time the uncomfortable change turns out to be positive whenever you embrace it.”
The 11-season NFL veteran does have a point, especially after seeing Odell Beckham Jr. win a Super Bowl after leaving the Cleveland Browns.
Bryant isn’t new to change because he played for three teams in his career.
However, he did not play at all when he was with the New Orleans Saints and had only 47 receiving yards for the Baltimore Ravens.
Will There Be Interest For Barkley?
NFL teams always have that thought of reviving a player’s career with a change of scenery.
Therefore, there might be a number of general managers who think that Barkley can be an asset to their team despite the downhill slope he’s on.
After all, he could benefit from a team that has a better offensive line.
Likewise, he might perform better if he doesn’t have the pressure of being the starter.
