It’s crazy to think that plenty of people doubted the Kansas City Chiefs before the start of the season.
Tyreek Hill’s departure was supposed to be a massive blow for their offense, with some people stating that the league would figure Patrick Mahomes out and that Travis Kelce wouldn’t be able to sustain his production with all the defense focusing on him.
The Chiefs made some minor — yet impactful — moves in the offseason, bringing in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling before also adding Kadarius Toney.
They also allowed rookie RB Isaiah Pacheco to grow into a bigger role and grind his way to first downs, and the result was predictable.
Mahomes led the league in touchdowns and silenced his critics one by one en route to another Super Bowl trip, even sans Hill.
That’s why former NFL star Andrew Whitworth believes Mahomes should win MVP again this season:

Whitworth talked about Mahomes’ impact and how he managed to prove the doubters wrong.
He didn’t have the most prominent set of weapons and was supposed to regress, yet he wind up having one of the best seasons of his young career yet, even ahead of guys who entered the season with higher MVP odds like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.
The Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl with a nearly-perfect 16-3 record, and Mahomes once again proved to be the most talented and impactful dual-threat QB in the league.
So, yeah, give this man the award already; he’s earned it again.
