Ryan Fitzpatrick may not have NFL trophies and credentials in his possession.
However, you’d be hard-pressed to find a teammate that hates him.
Perhaps his charisma is what “Fitzmagic” truly means.
Yes, he did have some miraculous performances for the nine teams he played for in 17 seasons.
But the Harvard alumnus always leaves a positive impact with every NFL stop.
Tributes will start to pour in after he announced his retirement and here’s one from running back JacQuizz Rodgers.
The realest to ever do it. Never forget I had a catch incentive in play and Fitz use to come ask every Tuesday how far are we away. I remember him checking the ball down to me Vs the redskins in 18’ to make sure I get it. Enjoy retirement the real “Fear the Beard” https://t.co/6gXGbcUv7A

Rodgers tweeted, “The realest to ever do it. Never forget I had a catch incentive in play and Fitz use to come ask every Tuesday how far are we away. I remember him checking the ball down to me Vs the redskins in 18’ to make sure I get it. Enjoy retirement the real ‘Fear the Beard.’”
Rodgers and Fitzpatrick played together for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017 and 2018.
But Rodgers’ story is a nice story about a player who puts everyone’s welfare first before him.
Even if he took over for Tua Tagovailoa at critical moments during the 2020 Miami Dolphins season, he never failed to show support to the young quarterback.
Being the consummate team player is what all of his teammates will remember about him.
Therefore, it’s no surprise he remembered those who he shared the field with during his lengthy career.
Fitzpatrick Thanked Everyone, Literally
ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted the text Fitzpatrick shared to his teammates to announce his retirement.
Fred Jackson shared the image showing the names of players that Fitzpatrick played with.
It’s an extensive list given the number of teams and years he played in the league.
He may not have won championships or barged into the playoffs.
However, he has impacted countless athletes who are grateful for his help.
