The season is officially over for Gregg Popovich and his San Antonio Spurs.
His team was taken down 113-103 by the New Orleans Pelicans in Wednesday night’s play-in game.
That means that the Spurs are done and headed for their summer break…and Popovich might be headed for retirement.
The NBA legend has led the team for nearly three decades now and rumors have been popping up left and right that this year might be his last.
He wouldn’t directly answer his future on Wednesday which means it’s really anyone’s guess if he comes back.
Some people are wondering what the chances are of him possibly moving elsewhere in the league.
I wonder what the Lakers would give up in a trade for Popovich! Don’t mind me tho and Carry on..

Former NBA great and current analyst Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to dream about a very public and curious scenario: what if the Lakers landed Popovich?
“I wonder what the Lakers would give up in a trade for Popovich!” Perkins said.
Obviously, LA would be lucky to get Popovich but the chances of that actually happening are so, so slim right now.
Gregg The Greatest
When Popovich does retire, he will do so as perhaps the best NBA coach of all time.
Under his leadership, his Spurs made the playoffs for 22 consecutive seasons from 1998 to 2019 and also won the championship five times as well.
Since then, the Spurs have finished with a losing record for three straight seasons.
The team is showing signs of life and promise but they might not make good on all of that until after Popovich is gone.
And while him moving to LA would be one of the biggest blockbuster moves in NBA history, it likely won’t happen.
The 73-year-old has said that when he leaves the Spurs, he is leaving the NBA to settle down and enjoy retirement.
If anyone deserves it, it’s Coach Pop.
