On Wednesday, it was announced that former top pitching prospect Noah Song would be joining the Philadelphia Phillies at their spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida after having been discharged from the Navy.
Song has drawn some high praise from several people around the game of baseball, including MLB Network analyst Jon Morosi, who had the pleasure of interviewing him back in 2019.
One of his former teammates spoke rather highly of him.
On Twitter, former MLB catcher Erik Kratz responded to Morosi’s tweet which featured the interview from 2019.
I was there and caught him. The most polished, directly out of college, arm I’ve seen in my career since @bfinny29

Kratz had nothing but good things to say about Song, recalling a time where he caught the right-hander and referring to him as the most polished arm directly out of college he had ever seen.
Kratz certainly was impressed by Song, and clearly has fond memories of working with him.
This here is the ultimate praise, especially coming from a catcher who had been around the game for quite some time.
Kratz made his MLB debut in 2010 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He also bounced around between the Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Tampa Bay Rays, and New York Yankees.
So naturally, he had seen plenty of pitchers over the course of his career.
But clearly, Song caught his eye and impressed him quite a bit.
Song now gets a chance to make his return to professional baseball.
He’ll report to Phillies camp with the goal of revitalizing his career and picking things up where he left off before his Navy service.
