The 2022 Miami Dolphins were one of the most exciting teams to watch this season, at least when they were at full strength.
Mike McDaniel worked his magic and turned their lethargic offense into one of the most explosive in the league, with Tua Tagovailoa finally looking like the franchise quarterback they hoped he could become.
But as good as they were at putting up points, they left a lot to be desired on the other side of the field, regressing defensively from the Brian Flores era.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that the Dolphins are swinging for the fences and pursuing two of the best defensive minds in the game right now, former Denver Broncos’ HC Vic Fangio and Seattle Seahawks’ Associate Head Coach and Defensive Assistant Sean Desai.
#Seahawks associate head coach and defensive assistant Sean Desai and former #Broncos HC and long-time NFL DC Vic Fangio are both interviewing for the #Dolphins defensive coordinator job today, sources say.

The Dolphins allowed the 18th most yards per game in the league at 354.9.
They also ranked 24th in passing yards allowed per game (234.8), points allowed per game (23.5), and third-down completion percentage (41.6%).
Fangio put together one of the league’s most dominant defenses during his days at Mile High, while Desai was one of the most prominent names in Pete Carroll’s coaching staff last season, and he’s got plenty of experience in that regard since his days at Temple.
The Dolphins have a young and promising team but will need to make great strides defensively if they intend to keep up with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets in the AFC East.
So, props to them for making this a point of emphasis ahead of next season.
