With NFL free agency set to begin soon, there are teams out there looking for a veteran QB under center.
Jameis Winston has the experience that NFL teams can use when looking for a quarterback.
Winston did have issues during his time in Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he was starting to improve with the New Orleans Saints last season.
Winston is set to become a free agent now, so which three teams would be a perfect fit for him?
3. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers need a quarterback.
They haven’t had consistent play under center for the past two seasons.
When the Panthers traded for Sam Darnold, they thought Darnold would solve their quarterback woes.
However, Darnold’s time is short-lived, as the team actively seeks to replace him.
Winston would be a perfect fit, with Carolina having a mobile quarterback during Cam Newton‘s time with the team.
Christian McCaffrey is a premier running back that helps take pressure off a quarterback.
Most scrimmage YPG this season…
Derrick Henry – 152.7
Dalvin Cook – 126.0
Christian McCaffrey – 121.3
Cooper Kupp – 120.7
Deebo Samuel – 114.0
Brandin Cooks – 109.0
Davante Adams – 103.0
Tyler Lockett – 103.0
DJ Moore – 99.3
Tyreek Hill – 99.0

When McCaffrey is healthy, he can make defenses focus more on him.
This would give Winston the time he needs to make big plays down the field.
A Winston/McCaffrey pairing can be trouble for teams in the NFC South.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Tom Brady retiring, the Buccaneers are looking for a quarterback again.
Winston played for the Bucs before being released in favor of signing Brady.
His return to Tampa Bay is a perfect fit.
That is because he knows the players and the system.
Winston would not need to spend weeks or months figuring out the play calls.
He would already have an edge with his past knowledge of the system in place.
He also has a connection with the receivers on the team.
Since releasing Winston, the Bucs upgraded their running game.

That gives Winston someone to help take the pressure off when he uses play-action against defenses.
All of this helps put Tampa Bay on the top three list of places for Winston.
1. New Orleans Saints
The number one team that Winston would fit in with would be the Saints.
Winston started the season 4-2 with the Saints before he suffered a season-ending injury.
People doubted him due to his poor performance in Tampa Bay.
However, he showed that he had grown since coming to New Orleans.
Each week Winston showed his doubters that he could lead a team to victory.
In the two losses under Winston’s belt, one was an overtime loss to the Giants.
The other was a blowout loss to the Panthers.
Winston made improvements throughout the season with the Saints.
Jameis Winston Red Zone stats- 13/15 105 yards 9 TDs – 135.42 QB Rating. Best in NFL.

During the season, he had 14 touchdowns and only three interceptions in the seven games he started.
He also passed for 1,170 yards, putting his QBR at 102.8 in that time frame.
The biggest takeaway is the low interceptions number.
Winston’s history of interceptions goes back to his time with Tampa Bay.
He showed that, with the Saints, he has learned how to make better decisions with the ball.
That is why the Saints and Winston the perfect fit for each other.
