Snoop Dogg is one of the most devoted Los Angeles Lakers fans.
Even though he’s a famous rapper who has traveled all over the world and met all sorts of athletes in the league, Snoop remains a loyal follower of the purple and gold.
That is why a statement he made on Tuesday morning has many people talking.
Speaking about Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Snoop had serious praise.
“[Curry] may be the greatest point guard of all time. And Magic Johnson is my guy,” Snoop said on First Take with Stephen A. Smith.

Few people thought they’d ever see the day when Snoop would be celebrating another team’s player.
It was made even more shocking by the fact that Snoop’s Lakers are playing the Warriors on Tuesday night.
“Cringe take,” one fan said.
Cringe take

There were many responses that looked like that one, with multiple people calling out Snoop for praising the Warriors superstar.
At the same time, numerous people pushed back against the idea that Curry is the greatest point guard ever.
He might be the best shooter, they said, but he’s not a better guard than Magic Johnson.
Steph maybe the greatest shooter ever but not the greatest point guard, imo… Magic is way better as pg because he makes the whole team better even if he's not scoring heavily.

Steph is the best Scoring PG, Magic is the best playmaker… which defines PG… nuff said

Other people said that it’s very hard to compare Curry to players from NBA history.
This is something that many people claim.
The league has changed in so many ways with increased speed, physicality, and style.
This new era of “PGs” are hard to compare to older generation of true PG. We have high scoring playmakers that play point, Steph, dame, ja etc, but that’s the pace and space of todays league

Even though Snoop had good things to say about Curry there is no doubt he is still rooting for the Lakers over the Warriors in this new series.
No matter how much he respects Curry, Snoop will forever love his team.
