The Los Angeles Lakers survived the play-in game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, but their playoff journey is just getting started.
Hitting the road to face off against the Grizzlies isn’t exactly what one would wish for as a reward, but that’s the position they put themselves in after such a complicated season.
However, it’s not like LeBron James and company aren’t used to beating the Grizzlies or anything.
As a matter of fact, fan account LeBron Muse pointed out that The King is actually 6-3 all-time against Morant, averaging 27.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game on 52/39/78 shooting in those matchups.
Morant, on the other hand, averaged 25.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on 47/51/76 vs. LeBron, so he’s no pushover, either.

Recently, Grizzlies star Dillon Brooks stated that they actually look forward to facing the Lakers, as they would love to send LeBron home in the first round like the Phoenix Suns did last season.
They’re an up-and-coming and stacked team with plenty of talent, and there are many good reasons why they finished the season with the second-best record in the Western Conference.
Nonetheless, the Lakers do have the edge in terms of playoff experience, and going against LeBron James in a seven-game series has rarely worked for the oddsmakers.
Regardless of who wins, this series will be epic, that’s for sure.
