In the NFL, running backs have one of the shortest shelf lives of any position.
Getting hit play after play makes it difficult for their bodies to hold up for 10+ seasons.
So watching a great running back in their prime is something that should not be taken for granted.
Former Rams running back, Todd Gurley, announced his retirement from the NFL after six seasons.

Gurley was one of the best players in the NFL during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
He was first-team all-pro both of those seasons and even finished second in MVP voting in 2017.
His 2017 season saw him accumulate 2,093 total yards and 19 touchdowns.
Gurley followed that historic 2017 season with a 1,831-yard and 21-touchdown season in 2018.

Gurley will end up playing six seasons in the NFL.
With knee issues being one reason for the early retirement.
All the usage he had early in his career made him look like a different player in his last season in Atlanta.
He seemed to lack the explosiveness that made him one of the best in the league.
But, playing a tough position like running back, every great player is bound to break down at some point in their career.
Gurley is getting plenty of love from fans on social media, congratulating him on his retirement.
The fantasy football community is especially sad to see him go after being one of the best touchdown scores in recent memory.
