In the year that Dwight Howard has been out of the NBA, he’s been quite vocal on social media about his desire to play in the league again.
It sounds like he might actually get his wish.
Shams Charania is reporting, via NBACentral, that Howard will meet with the Golden State Warriors about possibly joining their roster for the upcoming season.

This would be a major return for Howard.
He has spent the last season playing basketball overseas in Taiwan and not many athletes are able to return to the league after international play.
If he is able to convince the Warriors he’s a good fit, it would be a huge comeback story.
Some Twitter users believe that he could be a huge help to the team.
That’s tough, Dwight Howard with the Warriors.. Stephen Curry about to get Chris Paul their Ring.. only problem is Lakers or Knicks will be in their way 👀

Others are commending the team for looking to improve their size.
Fans have been hoping for more help in the frontcourt and Howard would bring that.
Warriors finally waking up. Need size on that roster. Adding another vet is always a dub.

However, others think that the Warriors would be silly to sign the eight-time All-Star.
“Warriors looking like a retirement home,” a user said, suggesting that Howard’s age will only hurt the roster that is also getting older.

Others are wondering why the Warriors aren’t thinking about signing DeMarcus Cousins, another talented big man who has been out of the NBA for a while.
They're that down bad?
Plus, why is no one looking at Cousins? 🤔

Cousins played for the Warriors before in 2018 and averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds a game.
During his last season with the Lakers, Howard posted 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds a game.
He definitely wouldn’t be a starting player for the Warriors but if he performs like he has been in Taiwan, he could be a huge benefit for the team as they attempt to return to the Finals.
