Ever since being fired by the Detroit Lions as head coach, Matt Patricia has been passed around the NFL.
He cannot seem to find one place to stick or one role that fits his coaching prowess.
Last season, Patricia was the offensive play-caller for the New England Patriots.
That was a complete disaster.
Patricia has always been a defensive coach, and asking him to call plays on offense was never going to work.
That could be one of the reasons why we saw Mac Jones have a down year.
But, now a report has surfaced that Patricia has found a new home in Philadelphia.
According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles have hired Patricia as a senior defensive assistant.
And now it is official: Eagles have hired former Patriots’ assistant coach Matt Patricia as their new senior defensive assistant, per sources.

This is quite a curious hire for the reigning NFC champions.
One reason is that Patricia and Eagles cornerback Darius Slay did not see eye to eye in Detroit.
The Eagles should be aware that is move could backfire on them.

Even though Patricia will not have a major role with the Eagles, his presence could cause problems for their team.
Many fans seem to think this move will not turn out well for the Eagles.

Also, Slay was set to leave the Eagles this offseason but re-signed with them at the last second.
