After Baker Mayfield led the Los Angeles Rams to a miraculous Thursday Night Football win just over a week ago, various NFL media outlets were singing Mayfield’s praises.
However, after his dismal performance against the Green Bay Packers last night, the tables have turned, and in a big way.
Although he had a near-perfect 4th quarter in his Thursday Night Football heroic football victory, he looked like the same old Mayfield in last night’s game.

Although he was hit as he threw in the above clip, Mayfield made a terrible decision on this pass, resulting in an interception that set up the Packers in a tremendous position.
Throughout the 2022 NFL Season, the Packers’ defensive line hasn’t necessarily instilled fear into opposing quarterbacks.
That all changed last night.

The Packers’ defense recorded nine quarterback hits, six tackles for loss, five sacks, and one interception against Mayfield and the Rams last night.
Rams fans and NFL fans across the internet continued to ridicule Mayfield for his poor performance last night.

Mayfield went just 11/21 last night, throwing for just 111 yards, one touchdown pass, and one interception.
More Than Just This Season
Mayfield is playing for a contract.
With his status in the NFL being largely unknown, it is paramount for Mayfield to play well in the Rams’ remaining games if he wants any chance to be a starting quarterback in the 2023 season and beyond.
With tough defensive tests coming in the next few games for Mayfield, we will soon see what his future holds in the league.
