The Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t strike gold with Karl-Anthony Towns as expected.
KAT is a very good player and one of the most valuable offensive big men in the league, but he may not be the type of player to build a franchise around — and that’s fine.
Fortunately for them, they may have found just what they needed when they got Anthony Edwards, who continues to make strides and show vast improvement in every single aspect of the game.
That’s why fans were thrilled to watch him working on his game and getting into the lab as the Timberwolves shared some pics of their star.
He’s the Franchise. Trade KAT for depth pieces,

Is crazy to think that Ant might be the first player to average 100 PPG?

It’s become more evident that the Timberwolves should build around Edwards and give him the keys to the franchise, even ahead of Towns.
It’s not like it should be one or the other, and both players could definitely coexist, but if it came down to it, it would be wiser to trade Towns for more pieces than to even entertain the thought of moving on from a potential generational talent like Edwards.
He already led the team to the playoffs last season, and his competitive fire was the one thing missing from that locker room since Jimmy Butler left to join the Philadelphia 76ers years ago.
Edwards is only going to get even better this summer, as he’ll be one of the main guys for Team USA in the upcoming FIBA World Cup, cementing himself as one of the faces of the future in this league.
