As a way to celebrate 75 years, the NBA created its list of the greatest players to ever suit up in the association.
On the list were some of the names you’d expect, such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, and so many more.
However, there was controversy because some notable names were left off the list.
People are still talking about some of the biggest snubs on the NBA 75 list.
The biggest names NOT on the #NBA75 greatest players of all-time list:
– Pau Gasol
– Dwight Howard
– Chris Bosh
– Tony Parker
– Vince Carter
– Alex English
– Bernard King
– Tracy McGrady
– Klay Thompson
– Kyrie Irving
– Draymond Green
– Paul George
– Manu Ginobili— ClutchPoints (@ClutchPointsApp) February 21, 2022
Kyrie Irving, Draymond Green, Chris Bosh, Tony Parker, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady are just some of the guys who weren’t included by the NBA and fans are still fuming about that.
But it’s not just the fans who are upset – even some players are getting worked up too.
Making The Cut
There was no way that NBA’s selections would make everyone happy, that’s just the nature of a list like this.
However, ignoring some of these players seems truly confusing.
How could the league pass over someone like Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors?
And the fact that Manu Ginobili and Pau Gasol aren’t included just seems bizarre.
Thompson himself publicly commented on the fact that he was overlooked by the league.
After the choices were made, Thompson took to social media to say that he was “pissed” about it and commented that he was “sick of the disrespect.”
The five-time All-Star is one of the greatest shooters of all time so his frustration is understandable.
Perhaps Thompson can use this snub as motivation to play harder than ever before.
Another championship ring on his finger might lessen the sting a little bit.
