The New York Jets coach, Robert Saleh, has been scrutinized on the internet after he benched Zach Wilson last night.
Wilson was the Jets’ third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft but has severely underwhelmed expectations.
After roughly starting Thursday Night Football (9/18 passing and one interception), Wilson rode the pine for the rest of the game.
NFL fans did not hold back when discussing Saleh’s discussion making.
No excuse for a team as talented as the @nyjets to be this bad. #ZachWilson can’t play in the NFL and #Robertsaleh can’t manage a team.#firesaleh

The Jets certainly have a talented roster but haven’t been able to make the most of it this season.
Jets fans have made their frustrations about Saleh and the team well-known at this point.
When moving to next season, they will need to make major changes, at least at quarterback, to improve their chances of winning.
There have been more than a few documented cases of who the Jets faithful would like to fill in at quarterback.
Jets absolutely have to acquire a QB this offseason since they won't be picking high enough in the draft. Trading for Jimmy G or Rodgers/Love is an option.
Even signing Daniel Jones (meh) is an upgrade. Real splash would be Lamar

A few options for the Jets would be Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, or Jordan Love.
While Rodgers is the most long-shot of the three, Garoppolo or Love would make the most sense for the Jets.
A New Franchise Quarterback?
If Garoppolo ended up getting signed by the Jets, the franchise would be able to take a giant leap forward.
He would bring playoff experience to a team that desperately needs it, and has performed in some huge games in his career as well.
Garoppolo will likely look to move on from San Francisco after this season, and the Jets are a plausible destination for the veteran.
Will this come to fruition?
