It’s been a long time since anyone has seen Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans play professional NBA basketball.
He injured his foot and spent an entire season recovering and rehabilitating from it, leaving the Pels without their biggest star.
However, during that time the team was able to find its own identity thanks to the hard work of Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Herbert Jones, Jonas Valanciunas, and more.
How many teams have a better starting 5 than this?

Now that Williamson is set to return to the team, people are starting to wonder if New Orleans might have one of the best starting fives in the league.
There might be truth to that.
For more than a year now, people have slept on the Pelicans, and the team is ready to show why that was a huge mistake.
The Big Easy Making It HardÂ
If the Pelicans are able to live up to their potential then they will be a huge threat to other teams in the league.
Williamson alone is fearsome with his massive size, skill, and strength.
But Ingram and McCollum’s shooting along with Jones’ speed and Valanciunas’ defensive output makes this squad all the better.
The Western Conference is a deep one with a lot of talent but the Pelicans could surprise many and become playoff contenders.
They showed glimpses of greatness in the last postseason and even though they put up a fight against the Phoenix Suns, they didn’t make it far.
Still, few teams played with the sort of enthusiasm and drive of the Pelicans.
This is what has fans so excited: the team is fired up and ready to play hard and now their number one draft pick is returning to the floor.
