Former NBA superstar and current “NBA on TNT” analyst Charles Barkley has always been one of sports’ most unique and funniest personalities, and millions of basketball fans enjoy his outrageous takes and antics each week.
But he recently said something that many fans will find weird.
During CBS Sports’ coverage of March Madness, Barkley said that during his playing days, he would clean his uniform by taking a shower while wearing it rather than use a washer and dryer.
Charles Barkley had an, uh, interesting way of washing his jersey back in the day. 😂 pic.twitter.com/AbmQSydRPs

Barkley is the best for stories like that… No one is better.

Barkley claimed he used to do so because early in his career, NBA teams would fly commercially, which required early morning flights, therefore giving him no time to wash his uniform the normal way.
If anyone may not remember his playing career, he was the fifth overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft by a Philadelphia 76ers team that had recently won the world championship with notable players such as Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Maurice Cheeks and Andrew Toney.
After a couple of years of playing a supporting role, Barkley started to blossom into a full-fledged superstar, and in the prime of his career he regularly put up at least 25 points a game.
Despite being just under 6-foot-5, the forward was also one of the NBA’s best rebounders, and he averaged 11.7 boards a game over his 16-year career.
Unfortunately, Barkley never got to win a championship, although he did play in the 1993 NBA Finals, where he lost to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
Ever since retiring in 2000, he has been a fixture on TNT’s NBA broadcasts while helping them be something basketball fans look forward to each week.
