August 23 is Kobe Bryant‘s birthday and fans across the world are using it as an opportunity to celebrate the Los Angeles Lakers legend and historic athlete.
Several years after his death, Bryant is considered one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball.
But he’s seen as way more than just a champion and MVP.
He is also valued as a dedicated businessman, loving father, and all-around positive influence on anything he put his mind to.
And one thing he put his mind to often was winning.

Nobody created game-winning shots like Bryant.
ESPN reminded fans of that with a tweeted video featuring some of his most explosive and impressive buzzer beaters.
Clutch shots like this are always exciting but no one did them like Bryant.
It’s just one part of his incredible legacy.
The Black Mamba Strikes
Watching the Black Mamba in his prime was something special.
There were so many games where it all came down to Bryant.
He would commit to a wild, deep two or three under the most intense conditions and circumstances.
He would somehow find the bucket through a sea of defenders.
You have to remember that he was the sort of player who attracted two or three opponents at a time.
Sometimes an entire team would swarm Bryant to prevent him from taking a shot.
Yet, Bryant would just be himself and would make a miraculous shot as the clock counted down.
Fans of the Lakers relied on Bryant to get the job done again and again – and he rarely let them down.
There was so much more to Bryant than his buzzer beaters but they were certainly one highlight of such a storied, historic career.
