The Arizona Cardinals have a situation on their hands regarding Kyler Murray.
They might not be on the same page with the Oklahoma alumnus at the moment, but they see Murray staying longer.
The Cardinals might have wanted to discuss Murray’s contract extension in 2023 when he will play under a fifth-year option.
However, the quarterback and his agent, Erik Burkhardt, would like to expedite the timeline by getting the extension now.
Murray is adamant about not participating in team activities until he gets paid.
That said, he already skipped the team’s offseason workout program.
But as the team’s lead negotiator, general manager Steve Keim shared that there’s “zero chance” that Murray will be traded.
Could #AZCardinals QB Kyler Murray be traded?
GM Steve Keim during his pre-draft press conference: "Zero chance."

With team owner Michael Bidwill also declaring the same scenario, at least the Cardinals are on the same page regarding what will happen.
That unity will make it easier for them to hear what Murray’s camp says and make a reasonable offer.
They can demand a massive haul of picks and players if they trade Murray.
It won’t be easy to replicate his impact on the team.
Cardinals Get Another Run For The Title
There’s enough proof that the Cardinals are doing everything to convince Murray to stay.
They’ve traded for DeAndre Hopkins and signed A.J. Green.
The Cardinals also acquired tight end Zach Ertz and drafted Andy Isabella and Rondale Moore.
They also added three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt on defense.
Unfortunately, their key players missed significant time last season.
That handicap prevented them from playing at their best, especially during the homestretch.
Getting their starters back should make the Cardinals shoo-ins for the NFC playoffs again.
Murray should think about that possibility before considering playing elsewhere.
