Edwin Diaz made quite the entrance on Tuesday night as he took the mound to close out the New York Yankees.
The New York Mets led game one of the Subway Series, 5-3, in the eighth inning.
That’s when Diaz came into the game to shut the door and the Citi Field DJ played a nice little walk-up song for him that Mets fans were absolutely loving.
Diaz got out of the eighth inning with a strikeout and managed to strike out the side in the ninth after the Mets had added an extra run.
Diaz picked up his 22nd save as the Mets held on for a 6-3 win.
Baseball Today tweeted a video of Diaz’s entrance into last night’s game.

Diaz Lives Up To Dramatic Entrance
Mets fans were loving it for sure.
Not only that, but Diaz lived up to it.
He went in there, struck out four guys and shut the door on a juggernaut Yankees lineup, giving the Mets the victory in the first round of the Subway Series.
It didn’t come without a little drama, as the Yankees brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but Diaz bore down and managed to escape the jam and seal the win for the Mets.
Diaz certainly has come a long way since he was first traded to the Mets.
His first season with the Mets was 2019 after he had come over from the Seattle Mariners in the Robinson Cano trade.
That year, he posted a miserable 5.59 ERA, blowing seven saves.
But now, Diaz has re-established himself as one of the best closers in all of baseball.
He has posted a 1.55 ERA and has converted 22 of his 25 save opportunities.
So far, that entrance is undefeated.
We’ll see how he fares the next time he takes the mound.
