The New York Mets are the talk of MLB at the moment.
Not only did they win a series against the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers, but their closer, Edwin Diaz, is the main character of one of the coolest entrances in MLB.
Some time ago, he chose “Narco”, a theme by Blasterjaxx and Timmy Trumpet, as his entrance song.
The crowd at Citi Field loved it: they danced at it when it was played in the stadium, and associated it with the most overpowering and dominant reliever entering the game.
Timmy Trumpet even played it for Diaz during the Dodgers series, and it was a blast.
Closers have a long history with entrance songs.
Mariano Rivera used Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”, and Trevor Hoffman had AC/DC’s “Hells Bells,” for example.
“Narco” Is Diaz’s Song Now
Diaz’s “Narco” is electrifying, and according to the artists who perform it, it should be his and only his.
“The two members of @Blasterjaxx that co-wrote “Narco” along with @TimmyTrumpet do not think anyone else should be using it as a walk-up song. They endorsed Edwin Díaz as the official user,” SNY Mets tweeted on Friday afternoon.

Talking with MLB Network’s Off Base, Blasterjaxx said that “Edwin is the official one,” and warned other pitchers and hitters in MLB: “You have to choose your own song.”
Indeed, it doesn’t matter at this point if a hitter uses “Narco” as his walkup song, or if a pitcher plays it during his entrance: fans of all teams have already associated it with Diaz and his nasty, dominant performance.
He is sporting a 1.52 ERA in 53.1 frames this season, with 101 punchouts.
The song is exciting, overpowering, and electrifying: just like him.
Blasterjaxx, Timmy Trumpet, and Diaz will be together for a long time, bringing joy to baseball fans.
