The MLB All-Star rosters are pretty much set.
The starters for the American League and National League were revealed to us on Friday night, and yesterday, we saw the lists of pitchers and reserves who were selected in both leagues.
One of the pitchers that was selected to the NL roster was New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz.
The 28-year-old right-hander is 2-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 36 appearances this season, and he has also saved 18 games, having only blown three opportunities.
After the selections were revealed, Diaz took to Twitter to express his excitement to represent the Mets in Los Angeles on July 19.
Proud and grateful to represent the @Mets and Puerto Rico next week at the @MLB All-Star Game 🌟🇵🇷🌟.

Diaz Ready To Represent Mets
You have to admire the energy.
Diaz has more than earned his spot on the NL All-Star roster and has had a great season.
He’ll join Starling Marte, Pete Alonso, and Jeff McNeil as the fourth Mets player to be selected to the All-Star roster.
Diaz was acquired by the Mets prior to the 2019 season.
After a tough first season in New York, Diaz has emerged as one of the most dominant closers in all of baseball.
He throws hard and his presence in a ballgame pretty much signals that the game is over.
Diaz is somebody that you do not want to face when you’re hitting with the game on the line.
He has been dominant from the get-go this season and has really changed the trajectory of his Mets tenure.
Mets fans would let him hear it after a tough outing not too long ago.
But now, he’s one of the best closers in the game and instills confidence in the Mets and their fans when he takes the mound.
