On Wednesday, Team Venezuela matched up against Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic.
Venezuela has already punched their ticket to the quarterfinals, having defeated Nicaragua on Tuesday night to improve to 3-0 in Pool D play.
And they got off to a hot start on Wednesday against Israel before ultimately going on to win.
New York Mets star utility infielder Eduardo Escobar contributed heavily to their hot start, hitting a home run directly to center field at loanDepot park in Miami.
On Twitter, the official account for the World Baseball Classic posted a video of Escobar showing off his power to center field, which prompted a celebration from his teammates and Venezuelan fans alike.

Escobar certainly gave that one a ride.
It wasn’t quite a no-doubter, but he hit it pretty good and helped Venezuela extend their lead over Israel.
Escobar hit just .240 last season with the Mets, but did manage to crush 20 home runs and post an OPS of .726.
The veteran infielder isn’t always known for his power, but he certainly put on a good show on Wednesday when he smashed the ball to straightaway center field.
Venezuela currently is leading Pool D of the WBC.
Team Venezuela also has stars such as Jose Altuve, Anthony Santander, Luis Arraez, Ronald Acuna Jr. Eugenio Suarez, Gleyber Torres, and Salvador Perez.
They have dominated in WBC play thus far and appear to be heading into the next round of the tournament with a lot of momentum on their side.
Time will tell how far the team will ultimately advance.
