Actor Eddie Hassell known for a variety of projects including Lifetime’s Devious Maids had died at the age of 30.
It appears that Hassell was the victim of a carjacking outside of his girlfriend’s apartment around 1:50 am on Sunday, November 1.
The incident happened in Grand Prairie, Texas on the 3000 block of West Bardin Road.
Grand Prairie is about 13 miles west of Dallas.
When police arrived at the scene, Hassell had suffered from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Grand Prairie Police are investigating and asking for the public’s assistance since they do not yet have a motive or suspect in custody.

Hassell’s girlfriend was inside her apartment when the shooting happened and did not see the incident or the shooter.

Hassell originated from Corsicana, Texas but moved to Los Angeles at the age of 11 to pursue acting.
As a teenager, he was cast in the NBC show Surface.
He appeared in 10 episodes of the show from 2005-2006.
In 2013, he was cast in Lifetime’s Devious Maids as Eddie Suarez.
He appeared in 5 episodes.

Hassell’s successes were not limited to the small screen.
He starred in the 2010 movieThe Kids Are All Right.
Annette Benning, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo costarred in the movie.
And he costarred with Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney, and Josh Gad in 2013’s biographical depiction of Steve Jobs’ life, called Jobs.
